Which platforms does BeyondTranslate support?
Desktop support is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Installation methods and system requirements are listed on the releases page.
How can I get text to translate?
Use global hotkeys to extract text from screen selections, screenshots, or clipboard, or open the mini translator and type directly. Some platforms require screen recording or accessibility permissions.
Which translation and dictionary services are supported?
Baidu, Caiyun, DeepL, Google, Tencent, Youdao, OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Ollama, and system services are available. Each provider may offer different capabilities for translation, dictionary, OCR, or LLM features.
How is my text handled?
Connected providers may process the text or images you send. Data handling depends on the services you enable. Only use trusted providers and review their privacy policies for sensitive content.
Do I need to create an account before using it?
The BeyondTranslate app itself does not require registration and is open source under AGPL-3.0 on GitHub. Some third-party services require you to configure your own API credentials.
